Before Growth Minded Management

I spent my career on the other side of the table — in finance at Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs, then in real estate strategy for the NBA. I got comfortable with spreadsheets, forecasting, and big decisions, but what stuck with me wasn't the size of the numbers.

It was the difference between the businesses I worked with there and the ones I saw everywhere else. Big companies have a person for everything — a person for the books, a person for hiring, a person for the emails. Small business owners usually just have themselves.

I started Growth Minded Management to be that extra person for the businesses that don't have a team to spread the work across yet.

And on the personal side

The same habits that work for a business work for a household. It starts with having an actual goal, building a plan to get there, and regular check-ins to keep you on track. I built my own portfolio starting from an ordinary paycheck, not a lucky break — a consistent budget did more of the work than any single investment. You don't need a big head start to build something real. That's what the budgeting and money coaching side is built around.

Two kinds of clarity

Some people come to us with a business problem — pricing, hiring, a plan for what's next. Others come with a personal one: a budget that never quite adds up, debt they want a real plan for, savings goals that keep slipping. You don't need to own a business for the second one.

We treat those as two separate tracks, not one blended service. You can work with us on the business, your own finances, or both — whichever is actually on your mind right now.

We're not here to hand you a framework and disappear. We're here until the plan is actually yours.

What guides the work

  • Plain advice

No frameworks for their own sake. If something doesn't apply to your situation, we say so.

  • Small enough to actually know you

We work with a limited number of clients at a time, on purpose, so the advice is specific rather than generic.

  • Built to outlast the engagement

The goal is progress — in the business, in your own finances, or both — that doesn't need us indefinitely.

Most consulting ends when the invoice does. We'd rather build something that keeps working after we're gone.
